About Karl
Karl Andre Terblanche is a professional photographer based in Swakopmund Namibia. Karl started his professional career whilst living in the UK and it has continued to grow since relocating back to his home town of Swakopmund 2 years ago.
Although primarily a nature photographer, Karl has undertaken various commercial assignments for both the film, print and corporate industries.
Out of these very different spheres, Karl has combined his love of landscape photography with a human subject matter and a little artistic tampering here and there.
It is not uncommon to find UFO's, meteorites or massive cinema style explosions mixed into images to create truly unique portraits and conceptual photographs.
His work has been widely published both internationally and locally with images appearing in The Mail On Sunday, National Geographic, Le Figaro, The Observer, FilmLine, Magic Touch Films, RBJ Film Directory, Namib Films, Desert Rain Films, Leisure Times Namibia, The BBC, BBC Wildlife,Flamingo and many more throughout America, Europe and Asia.
His images are also sold as Fine Art Prints and Karl supplies stock images to Image Libraries around the world. In addition to this, he also works as a Location Scout for production companies and hosts Photographic Workshops and Courses for all skill levels.
Karl does undertake commissions and is currently out on the road tending to various assignments. For more information please contact him via the contacts page.
